In Espelkamp the bathing lake Kleihügelsee is located in the idyllic nature reserve "Große Aue" between the districts Vehlage and Fabbenstedt. The bathing beach offers enough space for sports and leisure activities. Drinks and food must be brought along.
The Große Aue lake is also part of the recreation area, but is not open for swimming. By bike, the city center can be reached within 15 minutes. The nature reserve is also very popular for walks. The parking lots Am Kleihügel or Wanderparkplatz Große Aue, Fritz-Helmut-Allee are easy to reach from the L770. Drinks and food must be brought along.
