The Ellerburg is a former moated castle in the village of Fiestel. Access to the Gräfteninsel is closed due to the dilapidation and danger of collapse of the buildings, which formed an intact ensemble until the 1960s. The former splendor of the place is still represented by two old lime trees at the stone bridges as well as the approximately 400-year-old lime tree on the Gräfteninsel. A tree trail leads through the now overgrown park. The more than 150-year-old avenue of plane trees, horse chestnuts and linden trees marks the connection with the hereditary burial ground of the von der Horst family and the neighboring Hollwinkel Castle. The castle was first mentioned in a document in 1272 and found its first mention in 1475 as the knight's seat of the noble family von Münch.
